About

Hi.  My name is Jennifer and I have always been an inquisitive person.  I want to know how and why things work, especially when it comes to human society.  I am fascinated by the theory of rational choice.

I moved from Tracy, California to Reno, Nevada to finish my degree in Economics.  There were many reasons that I decided to move, but the favorable tax policies of Nevada and the affordability and upward mobility created by these policies made the move a logical decision.  I observed early on how tax policies can influence individuals, businesses, and their choices.  I have been able to watch the local economy grow and thrive while many other people from California and other states move here.

I currently own a tax practice and am a graduate student in the Masters of Taxation program at Golden Gate University.  I started my tax career right after the enactment of the TCJA.  I was able to see firsthand how tax law changes influence both personal and business decisions.  I also delt with all of the tax and economic changes that occurred during the COVID pandemic.

Living and working through our volatile tax system has led me to explore both US and international tax policies and I have started this blog as a place to document my research.  I invite you to join me in learning more about worldwide tax codes along with their development and implementation.
